Learn how to communicate with your cat
At first, Ivan and I got along great.
I would pet and play with him, and he would curl up on my lap and purr. However, as time went on, I began to notice that Ivan was becoming more and more distant.
Ivan would growl at me, and I couldn’t understand why.
I became confused and, thinking “is he mad at me?!”
He soon earned the nickname…
Ivan ‘the Terrible’
It broke my heart and was very upsetting to me. I was in tears thinking I was doing something wrong.
I tried everything I could think of to get Ivan to like me again. I gave him treats and toys, but nothing seemed to work. I began to feel frustrated and depressed that my baby didn’t seem to like me anymore.
Maybe I am not a cat person?
One day, I overheard my neighbor, talking about how she had a cat that she could talk to. I was intrigued and asked her how she did it.
She told me about a special book she had found that taught her how to communicate with cats. I was skeptical at first, but I decided to give it a try.
I purchased the book and began to read it. As I read, I learned about the different sounds and body language that cats use to communicate with each other.
The next day, I put what I learned into practice. I watched Ivan closely and tried to mimic his body language and meows or ‘growls‘.
To my surprise, Ivan responded positively. He began to rub against my legs and purr.
As I continued to talk to Ivan in His own language, our relationship improved…
I understood when Ivan was hungry when he wanted to play, and when he just wanted some alone time. And in return, Ivan began to trust and love me again.
I was filled with joy!
He wasn’t growling at me! He was talking to me. I misunderstood.
I realized that not being able to communicate with Ivan was causing our relationship to suffer. It was imperative that I learned how to talk cat as soon as possible.
Once I did, we were able to rebuild our bond into a strong and loving one.
Ivan and I became inseparable best friends, and it was clear that learning how to talk to him in his own cat language was crucial for our happiness and well-being.
